NEC members should also look out for suspicious emails, phone calls, or persons impersonating business employees or charitable organizations. Unfortunately, scammers take advantage of opportunities such as this when households are otherwise preoccupied. If you get a call from someone claiming to represent NEC and they make threats or demand immediate payment, hang up and call our office to report the situation.
For NEC member and employee safety, and following public health officials' recommendations, our lineworkers will socially distance themselves when interacting with NEC members and the general public. Our goal is to quickly and efficiently provide the best electric service possible, while taking precautions to ensure the health and safety of our employees.
NEC recognizes that this crisis can create true hardships for our members when paying their electric bills. NEC’s billing department is prepared to work with members on special payment arrangements on a case by case basis. Please contact us if you have a hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak so we can discuss your options. We are in this together. By everyone doing their part we will come through this crisis a stronger co-op, community and nation. We are here to assist in any way possible.
