Dog & Pet Safety Hazards

Surprises can sometimes be fun, but when an NEC meter reader or line worker trying to maintain your electric service or restore your power, surprises a territorial dog, the outcome can be dangerous. The meter is NEC property and sometimes it is located behind a fence where a dangerous dog is located. NEC Smart Meters allow us to avoid such situations most of the time. However, we need all NEC members to maintain accurate and complete contact information with us so we can let you know when we are in the area for work. Please make arrangements to keep your dog from "surprising" our workers on that date.
