Transmission Pass-Through Charge |

(Updated: 1/1/10) Nueces Electric Cooperative (NEC) consumers in the NEC distribution area are charged for the installation and maintenance of the power lines which bring electricity to their homes and businesses. These lines/services are of two types: distribution lines/services and transmission lines/services. The NEC delivery services tariff includes NEC’s distribution charges. NEC may also charge for any billing adjustments or other service fees. One of those adjustments is for transmission line services that are provided by our transmission partner, South Texas Electric Cooperative (STEC). NEC distribution area consumers have a pass-through charge from STEC included in their monthly electric bill. A “pass-through” charge means that this billing adjustment, or “transmission recovery factor,” includes no mark-up by NEC – as the Co-op is charged, our members are charged. The current pass-through transmission charge included in your monthly electric bill is: $0.0084 / kilowatt-hour (kWh) |
