Meeting Information
| Update 1/27/05: Attention REP's Interested in the NEC Transition into Retail Electric Competition in Texas. A follow-up meeting to the January 17th meeting (see entry below) is scheduled for February 9th at ERCOT in Room 206B. The primary topic will be customer protection rules. | Update 1/17/05: NEC held an informational meeting today at ERCOT for REPs interested in NEC's transition into retail electric competition in Texas. A follow-up meeting is set for February 9th at ERCOT. Click here to obtain the meeting/presentation handout.

| Update 1/10/05: On January 7, 2005 NEC and AEP TCC filed a proposal with the PUCT to eliminate the dually certificated distribution service areas shared by the two utilities in South Texas. For more information, click here.

| Update 12/16/04: ERCOT has declared that NEC TDSP has successfully completed all success criteria for its Electric Choice Pilot. NEC will continue to operate as a Pilot pending the decision of the PUCT regarding territory changes between NEC and AEP TCC and its transition into full competition.

| Update 9/13/04: All competitive retailers who have tested to serve consumers in the NEC service area MUST execute a Delivery Service Agreement (DSA) with Nueces Electric Cooperative. Current CRs must deliver a completed and signed DSA by 5:00 pm on September 28, 2004. If not, the CR will be removed from the provider option list, provided to NEC members, on October 1, 2004 and will remain off the list until such time as the DSA is completed. Your cooperation is appreciated.

| Update 9/1/04: The Power To Choose website has been designed for the IOU market model. As a result, and to avoid consumer confusion, NEC has full responsibility to provide consumer education information to its members regarding customer choice. | Update 7/14/04: Nueces Electric Cooperative will conduct a customer choice pilot beginning August 16, 2004. Pilot participants have been identified and will be notified in late July of the pilot and will receive "shopping" options and instructions in mid-August. Switches may be effective no earlier than September 1, 2004. For more information contact NEC CR Relations. |
