The Association of Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) and
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA)

Nueces Electric Cooperative is a member of the Association of Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). TEC is an association which unifies and helps to ensure the efficient use of resources for the 85 electric co-ops in Texas. By cooperating together, electric co-ops are able to operate more efficiently and effectively. Some of the services provided for electric co-ops through TEC include group purchasing, cooperative marketing, supporting legislative efforts on behalf of our members, providing employee and director training, and many other member services. Our relationship with NRECA is similar to that with TEC, but on a national level. NRECA joins and represents the interests of over 900 consumer-owned electric cooperatives serving more than 35 million Americans in 46 states.

The Cooperative Response Center (CRC)

Nueces Electric Cooperative is a member of the Cooperative Response Center (CRC). CRC is a cooperatively-owned and operated 24-hour customer contact center and central station serving the nation through a Northern U.S. Center in Austin, Minnesota and a Southern U.S. Center in Dunlap, Tennessee. Founded in 1992, CRC has steadily increased the size and scope of its operation as more and more organizations recognize the important role of information services, information technology, and telecommunications in winning and maintaining customer loyalty. By combining resources, CRC's members and customers have developed levels of service far beyond what they could offer individually. NEC utilizes CRC's Energy Dispatch Services. CRC's Energy Dispatch services, combine inbound customer care and outage notification for electric utilities along with experienced and professional crew dispatching, allow more customer phone calls to be answered with fewer busy signals during outages, satisfying your customers and pinpointing outage locations more quickly.  In the event of an emergency, additional customer care services are available through CRC.
